Jiwon - Week 1

 

Story: Same as the original Hansel and Gretel, but set in a different time and place.

Time: 1590s
Location: Joseon, Korea

In the 1590s, Joseon was devastated by famine after a war with enemies overseas. Han (Hansel) and Ell (Gretel), weakened by hunger, set out in search of food. After wandering along a dusty road for an hour, they discovered crumbs of a cookie scattered on the ground. Following the trail, they eventually reached a mysterious cottage covered with food.
