Sketchbook
Revised Story
Plot
A couple is browsing for condo rentals by the coast of a beach in Ibiza, Spain.
They are entranced by the beauty of one specific house, unsuspecting of anything
suspicious from the landlord. However, on the first day of their stay, when the
landlord is supposed to give them the key to the house, he leads them in and
traps them inside with his poisonous vines that he can control.
The monster gives them an ultimatum: if one of the two gives up the things they
value most, he will set them free. Initially, the couple is stubborn and tries everything
possible to escape the house. Morning after morning, the landlord returns to check on
them and see if they’re willing to accept the deal. Eventually, they do, as their physical
health worsens by the day and they realize the only way to survive is to take the deal.
As a result, the boyfriend loses his memories of the girl, the thing he values most. The
girl is determined to rebuild the relationship from the ground up, even if it takes her years.
Monster’s motivation
He targets couples and lures them with the house because of his own personal revenge from heartbreak.
A human had rejected him when discovering his true nature as a monster.
The vines
Poisonous and decay everything they touch. Slowly but surely, the house and greenery decay,
as well as affecting the physical health of the couple (similar to mold poisoning). If you try to
cut it or burn it, only more vines grow in its place.
